Between Light and Shadow

Exploring Pleasure with Limits

This two-day immersive workshop invites pairs to explore the art of vulnerability through embodied awareness, clear communication, and conscious touch. In a ritual-inspired space, we slow down together to notice what is happening in our bodies, practice naming wants and limits, and discover how pleasure can deepen when it is held by clear boundaries.

About the Workshop

For more information about the workshop, please see the FAQ page.

  • Confidentiality
Do not share the names or personal experiences of others unless granted explicit permission. Speak to your own experience and learning.
  • Listen with Respect and Maturity
Allow others to share and feel with patience by refraining from interrupting, and approach conversations with an open mind.
  • Body-Positive Atmosphere
Maintain an environment of celebrating others' bodies by refraining from unsolicited opinions, comments, or reflections about others.
  • Group Care
Use the names and pronouns people request, and honor the lived experience of those in the group. Don't make assumptions about people's identities and experiences (e.g., gender, race, sexual orientation, etc.).
  • Interrupt for Justice
If something is said or done that conflicts with these agreements or harms you, please address it as it happens if you can. When harm happens in public, we will try to address it in public.
  • Beginner's Mind
Whether you're new to this work or have prior experience, this is an opportunity to notice more. Everything we offer is an experiment and an invitation, not a requirement.
  • Flexible Participation
Participation can look many ways — join an exercise, witness, journal, take a break, say no to a practice, and change your mind at any time.
  • Space Awareness
Notice how you take up space — if it's easy to speak first, practice pausing; if it's hard to speak, practice stepping in.
  • Self-Care
Take care of your needs for water, food, bathroom, and rest. If there is something specific you need, see if you can ask for it.
  • Learning Zone
We aim for a “learning zone,” not overwhelm. You are always invited to adjust your participation to stay within what feels workable.
  • Personal Experience
When sharing, speak from your personal experience using “I” statements (e.g., I feel, I notice, I'm experiencing). This supports self-awareness and responsibility.
  • For Pairs Curious About Pleasure and Limits
This workshop is designed for pairs who want to explore conscious touch, communication, and boundaries together.
  • All Relationship Configurations Welcome
Romantic partners, friends, co-parents, creative collaborators, and other constellations are all welcome, as long as both people are a clear “yes” to being there together.
  • Consent-Informed or Consent-Curious
Some familiarity with consent-based spaces is helpful, but not required. We'll offer grounding in the principles we use.
  • 18+ Only
All participants must be legal adults.
